estrada’s lawyers must be joking. they have lost their lever to make any deals with the government. it’s obvious malacanang is feeding their desperation by setting down benign conditions for a presidential pardon: all it takes is for estrada to ask for it.

but seriously now, is there any real reason for the government to make peace with estrada?

there is no threat to the arroyo administration. estrada’s supporters have become war-weary and unlikely to wage a fight. the next election is three years away. most of all, the courts have come down hard on the man and firmly on the side of the government.

their best bet might be mar roxas’ private initiative to get arroyo to forgive estrada on humanitarian grounds. never mind that bit about healing the nation (it’s just a lot of political babble).

beyond that, i see no way around the life sentence.

noel novicio could add gymnastics to his list of olympic sports in which we have gold medal potential

this is a sport wher our natural abilities (agility and grace) outweigh our inherent disadvantages (size and heft).

give or take a few points in the logistics (money) department, we stand on an even keel with the best of them.

discipline? We have tons of it, if the will and determination to win is there.

sure, the boxers have stared gold in the face. but a gymnastics gold is bumping along near the surface.

    what say you, noel?

Does it mean that Noli De Castro approves of the forex plan by the Saudi group? Or does it mearely mean that he has agreed to take up the matter with Arroyo?

I have not seen the online petition. Can anyone out there tell me where I can find it?

The situation of our OFWs, particularly the women who work as domestic helpers in the Middle East (e.g. Saudi & Kuwait) and who suffered traumatic experiences of rape and other domestic violence should be addressed by none other than our foreign ministry. Even now, they can’t locate Melissa, who was raped by her employer’s son. And our own staff in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Philippine embassy, have yet to find out who she is or what happened to her. This is how weak our counry is. If only our forefathers did not ask for independence, we wouldn’t be in this kind of a mess.

what irony. a country that invented the miracle rice and sold rice to its neighbors is having rice crisis. can;t help but blame greedy property developers who have buldozed their way through our farms but build yet more concrete blocks. pity.
