Richard Gomez among stars handled by talent manager

Talent manager Douglas Quijano was found dead inside his rest house in
Barangay Ayunte, Lucban, Quezon, police authorities said.
Police found Quijano, one of the most influential talent managers of the
country's entertainment industry, sprawled on the floor of his bedroom at about
10am Saturday.

Quijano built the rest house three years ago
after deciding to retire from show business.
He was supposed to celebrate his 65th
birthday on June 25.
Police said Quijano's doctor confirmed that
the talent manager succumbed to a heart
attack.

Pasno said household helpers had been knocking on the door of the talent
manager's room before the police came.
A report by radio station dzMM early Saturday said that according to a member
of Quijano's household, the talent manager had complained Friday night that
he was not feeling well, but refused to be brought to hospital.
Quijano is the manager of several prominent actors, including Richard
Gomez, brothers Jomari and Anjo Yllana and Joey Marquez.
Police said Quijano felt itch on his legs late Friday afternoon. He asked to be
brought to his doctor to have it checked, but refused to go to a hospital after
the consultation.
On the way back to his rest house, Quijano complained of feeling cold so he
had the aircon in his van turned off. Quijano retired to his room at 8 p.m.
Friday after drinking coffee.
