jobs in Alberta, Canada are exempt from
paying all recruitment costs under a new
agreement with the Philippines, Labor

30-year minimum age for helpers
HONG KONG
At least half of the new hires arriving in Hong Kong to
work as domestic helpers will be disqualified if a
proposal to raise the age limit to 30 pushes through,
labor officials said.
Labor attaché Romy Salud has warned of serious
repercussions to the deployment numbers as
deliberations started in Manila over a Department of
Foreign Affairs push to amend the current
23-year-old age requirement.
